On January 27th, Triton Group hosted a food collection to be donated to The Trussell Trust.
The Trussell Trust support over 1,200 food banks nationwide by providing emergency food and support those who are in poverty or crisis.
January can be a tough month for many, particularly if you are in poverty or crisis, hence our decision to support The Trussell Trust for our social initiative this month.
Last year, food banks in The Trussell Trust network distributed over 2.1 emergency food parcels with 832,000 going to children.
A typical parcel includes food items such as, tinned fruit & vegetables, rice, pasta, cereals, biscuits and UTH milk. We challenged our teams to dig around their cupboards and bring in any suitable items to contribute to the donation.
As well as food parcels, these food banks also try to provide non-food items such as toiletries, household products and baby supplies.
Commercial Director, Lauren Paver said. “We are proud to have kicked off our 2023 social value calendar by supporting The Trussell Trust. January can be a challenging month at times, so if we can pull together to make things a little bit easier and ensure people have food on their table, then we are proud do so.”
